I landed a job as a Technical Consultant at WebTek Labs Delhi, an IBM Business Partner, through campus recruitment. My IT journey began with my first job as a VB programmer. NET Developer / Trainer on UML and IBM Rational Rose.
A year later, was working in capacity of a Process Automation specialist using VB Script and JAVA. I collaborated with renowned institutions and corporates as an experienced trainer. That is how I discovered my ardency for teaching, mentoring and process automation.
Ketera Technologies extended an offer to me to work with them in Bangalore as an Automation QA Engineer. I shifted to Bangalore, a new city with a different lifestyle and work culture. My inquisitive nature and the productive work environment honed my research mindset. My curiosity led me to explore endless tools, technologies, and processes, resulting in my acquisition of expertise in the skills: QA Automation, Release Management, JS Frontend Development, Database Procedures and Python. Python and its usage caught my attention!!
Four-year association with Ketera ended when I joined McAfee Bangalore, after the work at Ketera got monotonous. Joining McAfee was a massive boost to my career, learnt about Application Security. Even though McAfee hired me to work on QTP, I found myself drawn towards the Python language again. Our whole framework was getting migrated from QTP to Python. Wow, faced tough challenges during this time!
An opportunity to work closer to home presented itself, and it became a turning point in my career. Kronos Noida welcomed me as a Lead QA Engineer in March 2011. After gaining experience in South India, I faced a new challenge in adapting to the work culture of North India. Although the work culture was informal, it still had a professional vibe that made it easy for me to adapt. During my five-year career, I experienced an exhilarating roller coaster ride of fun and excitement. Jenkins, Python, and Selenium Automation became comrades on the journey of QA Automation. My time working in Kronos provided me with a sense of fulfilment in my career and helped me gain an understanding of a range of emotions. People opened up to me, they then motivated me to move forward, taking them along. My closest companions, empathy, and genuine intent, never left my side, no matter what obstacles I faced.
The year 2016 marked my departure from Kronos because of personal issues. I shifted to Hyderabad to work with Qualcomm as a System Staff Analyst. Fought a battle not just in the workplace, but also on an emotional plane. While technical skills needed improvement, those two years fostered an increase in my patience levels. I learned the importance of perseverance and the power of expression.
After what felt like an eternity, I returned to Kronos, Noida (now UKG), this time with a new team and new team dynamics. This experience gave me a richer understanding of the complexities of human emotions. I came to the realisation that I can continue to support my team by managing my intense emotions through ongoing self-reflection. My professional life was thriving, and I couldn't have been ecstatic with the outcome. My work style was reminiscent of my time at Ketera and Kronos, research focused.
It seems like just yesterday that the last five years began, and now they're already over. Now working in capacity of an Engineering Manager, tasked with overseeing DEV, QA, and Innovation in the team. You end up doing things that surpass your wildest dreams. Acquired proficiency in Cucumber, Serenity, JUnits, Bamboo, Jenkins Pipeline, Python, JIRA Automation, Static Code Scan, Security, and Application Performance Management, and attained expertise in streamlining diverse processes implemented in the team. Just imagine all the possibilities and opportunities that could come your way if you open your mind.
A People Leader with a Manager Index of 99% and winning awards for creating innovative solutions for the company and customers. At that moment, an idea of launching something independent crossed my mind. Hence, traversing novel and uncertain routes that I never dared to consider before!
Life appears to be a movie!! I know there's too much to absorb, but I hope you can relate to my professional life experiences.
PS: I peppered the journey narrated with hints of my life experiences. The action was intentional.😁 Explore the blogs for the same!
